It's beginning to feel alot like...Monday, everyday.

I have always liked my current job. You could say I am generally the type of person who rises in a good mood and is ready to start the day and even enjoyed going to work. As of lately though, this seems to no longer be the case. Why? I have no idea. I am exhausted. Exhausted of the disorganization. Discouraged by the lazyness of some of the students and staff. Frustrated with the feeling of hopelessness in getting the students to understand the importance of their futures. And so burnt out that I don't think I can even continue this post to vent about it. Very ready for Christmas break... already!

oops!

I didn't forget I have a blog. Just got a little busy and then a little lazy. Going to Illinois with the hubster for our first Thanksgiving as husband and wife. It will actually be he his first Thanksgiving with the Farrimond's ever. The past three we some how ended up at his grandparents every year. We are staying the night with my most favorite Uncle Don (dad's brother) and then headed to my most favorite cousin's house (mom's nephew) for what I am sure will be a feast with about 30 family members, mostly cousins. Its not the same without Grandma Zini (passed in 06') and Grandma Tirey (passed in 04'), but it will be nice to be with family and loved ones. Wishing you a Very Happy and FULL Thanksgiving. I am sure 24 hours with extended family will give me plenty to write about later this week. Or I could always write about the 5 pounds I lost these past two weeks and gained back this Thursday. Maybe both!! What a treat!

Oh and before I forget. Lucy and Linus had their first Christmas card photo shoot today! Their poor bellies!! I fed them so many treats to get them to stay, sit, dance, stop, and pose! Here are two of the MANY shots!

Destination, Destin.

The hubster and I leave this evening for Destin, Florida to vacation with my parents, my sister and her husband and kids. My parents rented a house and all of us are crashing there for a long weekend. I have never been to Destin. My parents usually vacation in Siesta Key in the Spring. (We typically tag along then too.)
I am beyond excited and in need of this quick get away. Work is just overwhelming at this point. The stress of the job is beginning to take its toll and I am ready for some relaxation.

One fear though.... I am going to get sick. It never fails. Whenever I finally have some time off and a chance to take a deep breath, my body finally calms down and then, apparently, attacks it self. Example? Fall Break. Two glorious days off, right in front of a weekend= 4 day weekend. And I get weak that wednesday night and sicker than sick Thursday and Friday.

So here's hoping to a nice, long, healthy, relaxing weekend with my most favorite people in the world, my family. Oh, and I would like a sun kissed look for when I return, but if thats asking too much, nevermind.

Chicken fried...

Last night, the hubster and I had a quite eventful evening... for us at least. We did a home inspection of a recently adopted rescue dog AND went to a Zac Brown Band concert. Just writing this sounds so busy and random.

First the adorable pup.....A dear old-college roomie of mine, who lives just outside of Chicago, helps save puppies on the side. She volunteers with Starfish. I was contacted by her to conduct a home visit for a recent pup adopted by a gal who lives in downtown Indy. So the hubster and I left for our downtown concert a bit early and stopped by the new home of a shorkie named Celeste. We met the new pup mommy and toured her apartment. As the hubster checked off the yes's and no's on the home visit checklist, I admired the cutely decorated tiny apartment and chatted with the new mom and adorable Celeste. It was different and fun and I am glad we were able to not only help out my former roomie, but also a great adoption program and an adorable pup and mom.

The concert.....We then headed for parking downtown. I just so happened to pick the parking garage next to Indy's recently added Kilroy's. (Yes, the Kilroy's from Bloomington) (( YES, they have the pizza filled bread sticks. Hence, my selection of that parking garage.)) We stopped in for a quick bite, and beer for the hubster and then headed to Conseco field house for our concert.

(Side note): At this point, I must confess, I don't really like concerts. They are too crowded, with drunk people. The hubster loves them. In fact before we met, he used to hit 3 concerts a year, at least. Since we met in 06, I think he has been to about 3 total. So, with it being his birthday week and all, I agreed to go.
Sadly, I didn't really know the band I was agreeing to go see. I knew one of my besties loves them, so they must be decent, but I couldn't name a song if you asked me. After a little bit of googling and contemplating purchasing some cowboy boots (always searching for reasons for new shoes), I was actually looking forward to the concert.

Once at the concert, our seats were great and the entertainment was excellent. On a disappointing note, the acoustics in Conseco Fieldhouse are HORRIBLE. However, Zac Brown still sounded good, which makes me wonder how blown away we would have been in a better venue. Sadly, the only other concert I had been to at Conseco was a rap concert, DMX to be exact (don't judge. I was 19.) I now have a greater appreciation for concerts where people actually sing and venues that compliment their singing.

We left the concert just in time to beat the crowd out, but also enough time to stop and write a letter to a solider oversees in exchange for a Zac Brown Band C.D. I would have written the letter without the bribe of a C.D. But am excited to keep the hubster's C.D. for our self and send the other one to a dear friend who is currently stationed in Pakistan, with a personalized letter of course.

I think that is what I liked most about the Zac Brown Band... they were fun and there to have a good time, but had a great message and program promoting sending love and messages to the troops. It left me feeling very grateful and entertained. What a great combo.

We returned home to our own pups (more on them in a future post). It was a great date night for the hubster and I. We agreed we need to do more outings like that. Random ones, that make us happy afterwards that we did them!

P.S. I have since downloaded four of their songs, with plans of purchasing cowboy boots in the near future.

lets see here.

My name is Jacque. Thats Jacque with a qu. Not kie. Jackie makes me think of the 90's show Rosanne. Her sister's name was Jackie.
My family and friends call me jac.

This is my small, half-assed attempt at a blog. I often have thoughts of things I would write if I had a blog. So I thought I would create a blog in case those thoughts come again. However knowing me and my very cozy life (i substituted cozy for lazy, it sounds nicer)... now that I have created the blog, I am predicting that I won't take the time or effort to post those thoughts. We shall see.
